SECOND CONDITIONAL
Your best friend has been invited to a party. Look at the picture and see what she is going to wear.1- Do you like her dress ?
2- What would you advise her to wear ?
e.g.: If I were you, I would wear jeans.
3- How many parts are there in the sentences we are using?
4- What tense do we use in the first part of the sentence, after " If " ?
What tense do we use in the second part of the sentence ?
5- In a conditional sentence there are two parts, condition and result.
If you wore that dress, people would be surprised.
CONDITION RESULT
6- In groups of four, write four sentences using the second conditional.
e.g.: ( You are very upset with your best friend ) If I were you, I would talk to her.
e.g.: ( You are hungry ) If I were you, I would buy a hamburger.
e.g.: ( You need a new car but you don´t have money ) If I won the lottery, I would buy a car.
e.g.: ( It´s your sister´s wedding, you are the only one wearing jeans. ) If I had time, I would go home
and change my clothes.
7- In turns, read the sentences to the class.
You are going to listen to a song, write as many sentences as you can while you listen.
8- Each student reads one sentence to the rest of the class, one volunteer writes them in the
blackboard.
9- In pairs, write at least four sentences like the ones you have just heard in the song.
Give them to your teacher.
